Switzerland Clinics was founded in 2009 to solve a narrow problem. International patients could not tell which Swiss clinic was right for them, and every source of advice had something to sell.
What we are
We are a medical concierge, not a clinic and not a broker. Our work is to understand a patient's situation properly, match it to the institution most likely to produce a good outcome, and manage the logistics around it.
Why it is free, and why that matters
The service is free to patients. We are compensated by partner clinics at a uniform rate, so no clinic pays more for a referral than another, which removes the financial incentive to steer anyone anywhere. This structure is why we can decline enquiries, recommend treatment at home, and tell patients when a clinic they have already chosen is the wrong one.
A network that can shrink
Since 2009 we have worked with patients from more than fifty countries. Every institution in the network is re-reviewed annually, and the review is allowed to remove a clinic as well as add one.
Part of Veltracon
Switzerland Clinics is part of Veltracon Lifestyle AG, the Zug-based VIP concierge group, which handles travel, accommodation and lifestyle logistics around a patient's stay when that is wanted.
Four principles
Written down in 2009 and unchanged since. Every clinic in the network is held to them, and so are we.
Independence
Uniform compensation across the network means no clinic can buy preference. Our recommendation reflects fit, not economics.
Vetting
Certification is the entry requirement, not the standard. We assess outcomes, consultant tenure, and behaviour when things go wrong.
Candour
We decline a meaningful share of enquiries: emergencies, conditions better treated at home, expectations no clinic can meet.
Discretion
Swiss medical confidentiality is protected by criminal law. We operate to the same standard in everything before and around treatment.
A concierge that never declines is an advertising channel. The judgement about when not to travel is the same judgement that makes a recommendation worth acting on.
