Swiss Medica began in 2011 in Switzerland and moved its main therapeutic clinic to Belgrade in 2016. A hospital completed in Belgrade in 2024 is now the company headquarters, and a second clinic operates in Rogaška Slatina in Slovenia. What the company keeps in Switzerland is a business office, not a place of treatment.
The clinic works mainly with mesenchymal stem cells, taken either from the patient's own fat, bone marrow, blood or gums, or from donated umbilical cord or placental tissue collected after a healthy birth, and often combines the two. Cell products are prepared and quality-controlled in its own laboratory, and it publishes the results of internal clinical studies.
